Good Morning Gorham!

I'd like to take a minute to remind everyone of what The Meaning of Christmas Project does and, hopefully, bring some awareness and support to our cause.

After years of working in schools, fostering children, and volunteering at other organizations, I wanted to create a project that helped ensure our most vulnerable children received gifts they TRULY WANTED for Christmas.

Often times school staff and social workers scramble to get these kiddos anything they can- which is a beautiful thing- but I wanted them to feel seen and heard at a time of year that is supposed to be magical for children.

Who recommends children to us? We work with our local schools- this year we have requests from three of them, but they collaborate so that whole families are taken care of and there aren't any duplicates. We also help a small number of children with medical needs and home schoolers.

Where do the gifts go? I drop them off to the school social workers directly and, in the case of home schoolers, at their home in Gorham.
