How hard is it to change the front axle fluid on a 2021 Ford Super Duty? It’s not bad at all. The hardest part is getting the factory applied RTV sealant off the cover and housing.

To protect the surface we use plastic tools. I also use some scotch brite to get it nice and clean with lots of brake cleaner and compressed air. Be sure to not leave any debri behind. The bottom of the axle housing collects a lot of particles.

If it’s not recorded it’s not done. We use a label maker and also record it in the service manual.

How much of a pain is changing the rear differential fluid in an AWD Ford Flex? Well it’s not as easy as a standard rear wheel drive truck or SUV. You will need to vacuum out the liquid. Once you get it all out you will need to pump the 75W-140 back in. There was some wear metal on the magnet but not bad for 100K miles.
