Rodman Custom Rods

Finished up this 7-piece 9’ 5wt backpack fly rod with white guide wraps, variegated purple ferrules, and a custom modified wells cork grip. The purple and white against the matte blank really stood out on this build. Appreciate everybody following along with the rod shop and supporting the page.

Custom fitting an aluminum winding check on a 7-piece 5wt fly rod build. I like leaving just a little clearance between the blank and the metal, so I build a thin masking tape arbor underneath for a cleaner fit and a little extra protection on the blank. Small details like this are what separate a custom fly rod build from an off-the-shelf rod.
