Wild Tine Designs - Custom Rings
09/09/2023
It’s been a little while since I had something new to show. But check this out! I donated a custom build to the local Mule Deer Foundation Banquet. The winner asked if I could do something with the tail feather of a pheasant she and her boyfriend harvested on thier first date together. I took the challenge on, and learned a lot making this very unique piece.
I’m also very happy to say that when I delivered the final piece I learned this will get put to good use, because they are newly engaged! Congrats guys, I’m so humbled to help build something so special for you. ❤️

What a great night at the Gillette College Rodeo Banquet. Wild Tine Designs was happy to donate a ring of the winner choice to the silent auction.

NEW RING ALERT!
Mokume (Moe-koo-may) is material made from forging precious metals together. This ring was machined in my shop from a copper/silver-nickel/brass mokume in a twisted pattern. The photo with the vertical ring show the pattern in a highly polished finish. The flat ring is after an acid etch to help dull the finish and provide more contrast to the colors.
I can’t decide which one I like more 🤔. But I know one thing, this is going to be a fabulous material to compliment a Wild Tine antler inlay

The cold temps have kept me out of the shop for a while. But today, while I am waiting on incoming shipments, I was able to get out and play for a bit.
Todays mission was some experimentation with a new material. This ring came from a billet of titanium damascus, it is layered and twisted with differing grades of titanium. While being machined the ring is solid silver. When the ring is finished and it is heat treated to just the right temperature the pattern of colors emerge.
This ring is gorgeous on its own but I can’t wait to play some more and embellish with inlays.
I have enough for a few more! What would you like to see done with this material?
