Many of us are taught a limited vocabulary of feeling words. As children, adults may have only asked us about being happy, sad, or tired. Or perhaps we didn’t learn to label emotions at all. . . Being able to clearly identify our emotions helps with self-awareness and self-understanding. This can also help us communicate to others how we are feeling and increase accurate self-expression. . . Ask yourself “How am I feeling?” and review this list to build your feeling word vocabulary.
