Don’t Get Misclassified 🤠

I’ll always be loud about this because too many beauty professionals are being misclassified and don’t even realize it.

Having employees is expensive. Payroll taxes, workers’ compensation, sick time, training, supplies, and compliance all add up. But classifying people correctly protects both the business and the professional. That’s why we do it the right way.

Misclassification has become far too common in the beauty industry, especially among new aestheticians who may not know the difference between a W2 employee and a 1099 independent contractor. At Wildflower Skin Institute, we believe education should include understanding your rights, responsibilities, and options.

A high commission percentage as a 1099 doesn’t automatically mean you’re making more money. Consider the full picture: taxes, benefits, supplies, scheduling, liability, and long-term financial protection.
