“In every human breast, God has implanted a Principle, which we call love of freedom; it is impatient of oppression, and pants for Deliverance.”
Phillis Wheatley 1753-1784 American Revolutionary Poet, First African-American published poet
https://youtu.be/bgL-m7uk4-I
Today we celebrate our country’s Independence Day. A day some 50 brave souls, at the risk of death by ex*****on, signed the Declaration of Independence from the biggest world power of its time, England.
I love this quote above from Phillis Wheatley. Why? She was a contemporary of the Revolution and was the first published poet in America of African descent. She was born in Africa but brought to the American continent at age 7. And yes, she was a slave. She knew about oppression and “panted” for Deliverance for her Freedom.”
We, at Lamb Health Direct Primary Care, are an Independent Health Care Clinic. We are not tied or affiliated with any Insurance plan. We have found that for the last 30 years, health insurance premiums have gone up, and coverage has gone down, every.single.time. That is a form of oppression for most American families.
Many of our patients love the fact that our clinic provides actual health care. We at Lamb Health work for you, the patient, not Insurance companies so that your best interests are served, not the insurance company.
How does this work?
***We function under a low monthly membership model. $75/member, $130/couple, $150/family
***We offer low cost high quality labs through wholesale cost from Lab Corp. we can even use your insurance to bill for your labs.
***Major discounts on imaging through Simon Med like CT scans and MRIs
*** We now accept Medicare
*** Vaccines for children 18 and younger and Covid (Moderna) vaccines at no charge.
*** Urgent care visits by same day or next day appointments
*** We are “off the grid.” We do not share your health info with any insurance company or government entity.
*** Reduced medication costs with our in-house pharmacy. Most of the time our meds cost less than GoodRx. Sometimes not. We want you to have options.
*** We offer a wide array of services including mental health, chronic and difficult illnesses like Long Covid, Chronic Fatigue etc. and can excise cysts, freeze warts and pre-cancerous skin lesions, biopsies etc. See our website for a more comprehensive list.
*** We combine the best of Western (Scientific evidence based) and Eastern Medicine (Principles of Ayurveda) as indicated by your needs.
*** And most importantly, we try and just listen and take our time to assist you in optimizing your health the best we know how.

Hello Everyone!
Welcome Spring Equinox!
First I’d like to thank those who have Donated some supplies to our office. You are greatly appreciated.
I understand we are currently in a unique time of history. I hope that we can all keep it together as best that we can. To paraphrase a popular cinematic feature a few years back, “The odds are in your favor!” You will not only survive this but look back on this experience with great nostalgia. I do not want to minimize anyone’s suffering or pain during this transition however.
Here is the latest with some links:
What if I run out of food?
As you know, the groceries stores are gutted out but many places still have food options.
I am amazed at the resources people come up with. If you are without some items or, have excess of things and want to sell or share follow this link if you are in the Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Gilbert areas that gives information and contacts out called: How Can I Help You?
https://www.facebook.com/groups/218911192646368/?ref=share
How long will this virus last?
Most experts say the peak of illness is about 4-6 weeks out then things will die down. The true answer is no one really knows. This is an interesting article with nice graphs and link. It does fall on the side of being an alarmist but I’d rather be extra precautious and be made fun of later, than to not be cautious at all and lose lives: https://link.medium.com/5oX1suoY24
How can I be tested?
Unfortunately there are no places with universal random testing. This is the response the Banner and Dignity Urgent Cares of the area are telling patients:
“If you have any questions or concerns about the coronavirus, otherwise known as Covid-19, please contact the Arizona Department of Health Covid-19 information line for the most up to date at 1-844-542-8201.
I have placed orders for testing at our small clinic from LabCorp, Quest, and one other labs. If and when testing is available I will let you know.
So I am hoping you are keeping hour social contacts at a distance and doing extra precautions with sanitation and hand washing.
I am available via text as you know for health related questions and concerns. the clinic is open but we are spacing out any office visits so that only one patient comes in at a time. Has it been busy? Overwhelmingly so but I am committed to being there for you, especially in these unique times.
We do have Telemed options. We also can view your rashes via photos. Text is preferred. Why? Studies show that most patients remember only about 20% of what the doctor said. Texting allows communications to be read and re-read later.
Our pharmacy is well stocked, for the most part. Despite putting in an order Over a month ago for Chloroquine and Hydroxyquoloquine, both meds promising to combat active Covid-19 patients, we do not have any and it is on back order.
Advice on what to do?
1. Reconnect with old friends or develop new relationships via social media.
2. Finish that novel you were going to write. Or, finish reading the ones you wish you had.
3. Develop a new talent like music, photography, art.
4. Limit media exposure. Yes we need to be informed but most news is geared to sensationalize. This can worsen your anxiety.
5. Learn to meditate, or effectively pray. This is a natural way to reduce stress, improve your immune system, improve your self-discipline, and yes, studies show that your happiness increases by at least 10% if you incorporate some form of meditation or loving prayer.
1. Learn to be a minimalist. With all the restrictions we are forced to limit our consumerism. I like this quote from Henry David Thoreau
From Walden
“A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone.”
2. Get out and start walking! This is good exercise. Speaking of Thoreau, he preferred the term:
Saunter.
Here is his essay from the 1862 edition from The Atlantic:
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1862/06/walking/304674/
Walking Henry David Thoreau extols the virtues of immersing oneself in nature and laments the inevitable encroachment of private ownership upon the wilderness.
Hello Lamb Health Members:
Like you all, I am glued to the media about the latest information coming in. Every time I want to send you an email the information changes.
Here are some bullet points subject to change:
Is the whole world over-reacting?
Yes,
But this is a good thing. This Pandemic will go away because people, organizations, schools, NBA, etc, are taking extra precautions.
What is the chance of me dying?
Not very high. As of today there are 958 documented cases in the US with about 26 deaths. These are just the know cases that tested positive. Thousands upon thousands of people no doubt have the virus but the symptoms are too mild to even contact the doctor let alone be tested.
What should I do if I think I have the virus?
First of all, do not randomly come to our office. If later, you ended up testing positive for the virus then we would have to shut down the office for 2 weeks of quarantine.
There are protocols, although they are changing every day, to be tested. Right now, with limited number of tests (unless you are Tom Hanks), Public Health will screen your condition over the phone and direct you to a location if they feel you qualify.
Also, if you have a bad cough, especially if you have a ripping sensation with cough in your lungs then go to the ER. It may or may not be Corona but it could be something serious.
What should I do?
Keep up the handwashing, avoid public places as much as possible etc.
Will there be a medication shortage?
The wholesalers that work with have assured be that this will not be the case. Only about 13% of medications worldwide are made in China. I have some Plan Bs and Cs that should keep our supplies intact.
Ok to text me with any other questions. I will keep you posted the best that we can.
