The right materials for the right application matter.
We were brought in as a consultant after the weather resistive barrier used on this Downtown LA project failed. The product used was designed as a waterproofing application for below grade use.
It could NOT handle the high temperatures behind the zinc metal cladding and melted, resulting in significant damage and a need to replace the cladding with the proper WRB/air barrier.
Our team had the solution - a combination of RevealShield SA (UV stable) and VaproShims to create a rainscreen design.
