Grab some friends and come discover the alchemy of natural Indigo Dyeing here at The Rice Museum! Our studio is adjacent to the actual dock where Indigo was shipped from Georgetown to England in the 1700's!
Reservations are required, and classes are limited to 10 students.
Instructor supplies everything needed to create 3 original works of art; items will vary from class to class. Additionally you may bring 3 all cotton items of your own to dye as well! Cost is $75 per student.
Class is 3 hours in length, here in our Georgetown studio at 633 Front Street. Learn more about this important South Carolina crop and how Eliza Lucas Pinckney helped save the local economy.
