Where To Farm

Let's talk horses. In the past few years training horses, i've watched something thats always been in the industry become prevalent: misunderstanding.
Why is it that when we wake up in the morning we expect our horses to give us 100% everyday when somedays I can't even show up for myself that much. The beauty of horses is the team, some days we show up 50/50 and maybe some days your horse shows up 90/10 and takes over where you lack.
I watch people misread horses emotions, I watch them reprimand for behaviors that are natural instinct, I watch people call horses names and belittle them, and I watch people drill horses over and over. Sometimes I don't believe its intentional, the adult ammy that doesn't jnow any better, or a trainer that is green to that specific problem. None of us is perfect, thats the beauty in spending years learning horsemanship and how to interact with them.
Would you be successful if everyday your trainer or coach called you stupid? Or told you, you couldn't accomplish your goals? Would you be successful if you had to do the same thing day in and day out with no reward? What if you had severe anxiety and someone made you face that fear panic attack after panic attack?
Would you be successful if you set the tone for your ride as already negative? Things like "this ride is going to suck" or "this horse isn't going to behave today."
I think we spend so much time harping on the negative when we should be channeling our mindset to manifesting good rides, rewarding our horses when they pick up even the smallest thing they are trying to learn because small building blocks build onto bigger things, to success, to that 3ft jump youve been dreaming about, or even just a little more suppleness on the flat.
I wish more people would wake up with the intention to be thankful and blessed we get the priveledge of working with and riding these beautiful animals, because really they could and should be so much less forgiving for our shortcomings.
