Meraki & Moon

Big announcement Friends! This is going to be lengthy but bear with me. We have been sitting on some exciting news.

Amanda (former owner) and I had dreams we wanted to share with our community.  Neither of us knew when, how or if we could make this a success.  It was truly a risk for both of us. Together we created Meraki & Moon and opened our doors on June 5th, 2020.  We had originally planned to open on March 23rd, 2020, and the world shut down on March 15th, 2020. We had no idea during our early planning stages that we were about to witness a worldwide pandemic. There was already so much unknown of how to begin this journey of owning a small brick-and-mortar creative art market, but together we took a leap of faith and began this crazy, beautiful ride.  We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into our dream.  I would be lying if I said it was a smooth ride. There has been nothing smooth about it.  2020 tested both of us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. 

The retail space became much more of a focus than we designed in our original business plan due to not being able to hold classes. Amanda had 2 small children whom she had to suddenly become a homeschool teacher for and she was a new bride. Five months into our opening Amanda decided to step away as owner.  That left a big hole to fill, and I was still working my other career to keep the doors open. I also owned my woodworking and jewelry business, Indigo Soul Designs. 

Since opening Meraki & Moon, I personally have not had the opportunity to work within my medium as I had hoped or hold classes as I would have liked. This brings me to this. 

As of December 31st, 2022, Meraki & Moons doors will close.  I am merging my two businesses into one.  We will reopen as Indigo Moon sometime in January. 

The decision to close this chapter and begin a new one has been difficult but exciting. I do not have a definite date at this moment.  There are many moving parts to this.  I will post updates on social media frequently. I am excited about the new changes being made as they should allow me to be more creative and offer more to our community.
