FLORENCE MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

On September 13, 2024, at approximately 6:00 pm FCSO deputies responded to a call of a shooting at a liquor store at 302 South Jeffords Street in Florence, SC. According to Investigators, following a verbal and physical altercation inside the store, Saquwan Tyshon Ashton Capehart is alleged to have retrieved a handgun from his waistband and shot the victim as the victim turned to run out of the store. The victim was later treated for a gunshot wound. Capehart is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond. Saquwan Tyshon Ashton Capehart, age 26, Florence, SC was arrested on September 16, 2024, and charged with Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029), Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(A)), Pointing and Presenting (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-410) and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490).
