After our crossing from Carrabelle to Clearwater, we were able to make it down the coast of Florida. We enjoyed meeting new loopers along the way. We stopped at Twin Dolphin Marina in Bradenton to visit some of our favorite loopers. Carol and Jeff on Sans Souci III and Angela and Mark on Lizzy Lynn.
On New Year’s Day we left Marco Island about 9:40 am. We waited for the fog to lift as the 2 days prior we traveled in dense fog dodging crab pots and blowing our fog horn every 2 minutes to warn other boaters in the area that we were near. We watched our radar intensely as our visibility was reduced to only a few feet in front of the bow. The day started out hazy but beautiful…..and then…..the fog set in for an hour and a half about 3 hours into our 7 hour trip. We were thankful when it lifted and our navigation was clear from the Gulf of Mexico to enter the Northwest Channel into Key West. Now we can relax and recharge for 6 weeks. ☀️⚓️🛥️⛵️🌴🏝️🍹

Way better day yesterday. Left Midway Marina with Anchor Up, Stones Throw, and Cloid 9. Went through 4 locks and Left them Above the Stennis lock at Columbus Marina 59 miles later. (To shallow for me to get into) We went through the lock and dropped the hook 5 miles below it in a super nice quiet anchorage. All sunshine and butterflies yesterday. 36 degrees this am but we’re from MN. That s**t don’t bother us! 😳
