One of the most common problems I come across is known as "stick drift". If you've ever been gaming and you see your player start to move on its own, or "drift", then you know how annoying this can be. Stick drift is caused by the way the inner components of the joystick module rub against each other which leads degradation over time, so the best repair method is a complete replacement of the joystick module. Fortunately, the parts are easy to come by, and replacement by a skilled technician only takes a few minutes!
