We're located just south of Raleigh, NC, in the Cleveland School area of Johnston County. We use organic methods proposed by the USDA but strive to go beyond them, as many organic growers feel it is only a minimum standard. However, since most customers come out to visit the farm, their presence on the farm is the ultimate seal of approval in our view. Currently, we grow a wide range of vegetables

Happy New Year to all of our customers past and present. We miss you all and hope to see everyone again later in 2025.
I have been on a sabbatical since late 2023, as many know after a bad shoulder injury. Things progressed slowly, and I also had recurring problems with my left hip/leg related to the fall at the same time. By April 2024, I attempted to resume farming, but chronic pain, and losing my health insurance (it has been renewed as of September 1st, long story), made it near impossible to continue. As I tried to rehab and reset for a fall restart, that timetable came and went. I started back to PT for my hip/leg in September, with marginal improvement. However, I've since found another PT, with a protocol that's starting to work. Fingers crossed.
The current farm lease we've had for the last 8 years has come to an end, and the landlord wants to go in a different direction. I'm currently not in any condition to manage 10 acres, partly due to my condition, but partly due to other issues outside my control. That's ok....where one door closes, another opens.
We're currently packing up our equipment and putting it into storage, looking for another opportunity closer to home. This will be a good time to de-clutter and downsize things we probably won't need going forward.
If anyone knows of someone dedicated to local farming and has land for lease, let them know we are looking.
I'm confident I'll make a full recovery, my leg was feeling great Spring 2023 and was getting stronger than it has been in years. My fall in September 2023 was the major turning point that led my leg to get worse. Chronic pain and dysfunction is a difficult problem to solve. It just takes time as we age.
