I read the Time cover article this week about how longer life expectancy is quietly reshaping what “aging well” actually means and as a caregiver and as I start to imagine "older" life myself, it really resonated.
For generations, we’ve relied on a simple life structure: school, work, retirement. But with people living longer, healthier lives, that structure often leaves a big question unanswered:
What gives life meaning in these later chapters?
This is the heart of what I’m increasingly drawn to — legacy-focused coaching and reflection. Not about “looking back,” but about staying engaged, connected, purposeful, and aligned with what matters most.
A gentle exercise you might try or share with a parent or loved one:
👉 Ask them what they care about most right now — not what they’ve already done.
I’ll be sharing more thoughtful resources like this as I continue learning and working in this space.

I came across a post today that really stayed with me:
“It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it.
If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire.”
In career conversations, this truth comes up often.
We fall in love with an outcome, but the real question is always:
Do you want the life that comes with it?
The tasks, the pace, the environment, the day-to-day rhythm?
That’s the heart of Career Design—helping people understand their authentic wiring so they can choose a path that feels aligned, sustainable, and meaningful.
If the lifestyle underneath the goal doesn’t match who you are, listen to that. It’s not a roadblock. It’s guidance.
You deserve a career you can actually live and thrive in.

I listened to an episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast featuring Kelly Gerardi — astronaut, researcher, and mom — and it resonated deeply with the work we do at Career Design.
Kelly shared this powerful reminder:
“Ordinary people can make themselves capable of extraordinary things.”
She talked about how she once believed extraordinary lives were reserved for extraordinary people, until she learned to adjust the limiter on her imagination and ask: What would my life look like if every barrier disappeared?
That’s the foundation of clarity and courage. It’s not about certainty. It’s about giving yourself permission to imagine something more — and then taking one small step toward it.
✨ Reflection:
Where have you decided something isn’t possible for you?
What might change if you loosened that limiter just a little?
