But scammers just keep getting savvier, and last year alone, more than a million Americans had their info used in Medicare scams (SMPresource.org).

Here’s how you can protect yourself and the people you love:
• Hang on tight to your Medicare number, only share it with people you know and trust, and only when you’re the one who reached out first.
• Be wary of any calls or emails that feel pushy, ask for personal info, or promise deals that sound way too good to be true.
• If someone puts on the pressure or makes you uneasy, hang up, no explanation needed!
