We're proud to recognize Angleton-Danbury Nurse Educator and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Sara Hayes, MSN, RN, CEN, CA/CP-SANE, for participating in Brazoria County’s inaugural “Voices, Rights & Action: A Victim-Centered Courtroom” workshop.

This three-day training brought together healthcare professionals, law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim advocates to strengthen collaboration and improve trauma-informed, victim-centered care.

Through hands-on case simulations, participants explored the impact of trauma, the role of forensic nursing, and best practices in patient advocacy, documentation, and treatment. During the session, Sara shared the importance of prioritizing victim safety, access to resources, and compassionate care for survivors.

We are proud to support nurses who advance forensic nursing education and improve outcomes for victims across Southeast Texas.
