68% of individuals with cognitive differences are unemployed in Kent County, Michigan. New Growth Project is working to change that.
New Growth Project creates job opportunities through farming, creating products for your home, and curating beautiful gift boxes. Through their peer-mentoring program, employees learn new skills, gain confidence, and become a part of the community.
In next week's Deep Dive, you’ll hear their origin story, how they operate day-to-day, what’s working, and what’s hard — followed by 15 minutes of open Q&A.

*We submitted our final Northeast SARE report for our 3-year project: "Building Community and Capacity of Care Farms Benefiting People with Intellectual or Developmental Differences in the Northeast U.S."

*We're researching 2027 CFN National Conference venues and planning visits

*We're planning a Virtual Deep Dive with New Growth Project

*We were accepted to present at two conferences: Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and American Horticultural Therapy Association

*We provided two care farming consultations in the past week

The Care Farming Network Online Map & Directory started with 13 care farms in 2021. Today, we're at 398! We're proud of this growing network--and the community building, healing, and meaningful work each map pin represents. With each farm that joins, we get closer to our vision of a care farm in every county.

Are you part of a care farm that hasn't joined the directory? Help us reach the milestone of 400 farms in the network! Aspiring care farmers can join, too. The Online Map & Directory link--where you'll find instructions to join--is in the comments.

If your listing needs updating, you'll find instructions at the link in the comments as well.
