Life Unplastic

We get asked which of our deodorants is “the best” all the time and the answer is always the same: “it depends.” 😅
Bodies are different, lifestyles are different, and what works well for one person may not work at all for another.
One big thing a lot of people new to the natural deodorant game don’t realize is that natural deodorants aren’t antiperspirants.
Antiperspirants use aluminum compounds to temporarily reduce sweating, while natural deodorants are aluminum-free and focus more on neutralizing odor instead.
And while the research around aluminum and long-term health effects has not reached a clear scientific consensus, many people still choose aluminum-free deodorants because of skin sensitivity and ingredient preferences, as well as the environmental impacts from aluminum mining and reducing their exposure to plastics.
You’ll still sweat (and that’s OK!).
As for baking soda? It’s super common in natural deodorants because it works really well for odor control. But full disclosure, some people find it can be irritating over time, which is why we also carry baking soda-free / magnesium powered options.
So - which one should you choose? It depends! If you know your pits are extra sensitive, you may want to skip right to a magnesium powered one. If you don’t want to rub a cream in with your fingers, you may lean towards one with a cardboard applicator. And of course we have different scents or unscented, some with beeswax, some vegan. We have a full range of prices for different budgets too.
At the end of the day, there’s no one “perfect” deodorant. But we love the ones that are lower waste, thoughtfully made, and designed for different bodies and preferences. 💚
Which one is your go to?
