Keep Alachua County Beautiful

Earlier today, KACB conducted another creek cleanup in Northwest Gainesville after receiving a report from a concerned resident about litter accumulating in the area.

With permission from the property owner to access the site, KACB removed approximately 238 pounds of litter from another section of Springstead Creek (formerly known as the East Branch of Hogtown Creek). Items removed included three tires (including one from a semi truck), a traffic cone, a recycling bin and an engine part. This cleanup helped restore the creek's natural beauty while improving habitat conditions for the plants and wildlife that depend on this important water system.

We are once again grateful to the residents who take the time to report problem areas. Community involvement plays a vital role in helping us identify and address litter throughout Alachua County.
