Bottles and Jugs
An Art Show at Rye Gallery November 22nd through December

Matthew Bennett is a Grand Valley artist, husband, and Father of two. He graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a BFA in 2008 and built Bennett Art Studios and Gallery with his wife Heather who also holds a BFA from the same institution. Matthew is a three dimensional artist who primarily works in clay. Bottles and Jugs is a lighthearted show consisting of several high fired, functional, bottles and jugs. It is an exploration of form, surface and the attractive storage of liquids. Expanding upon the classic moonshine style of jug, Matthew has brought his sense of humor and whimsical aesthetic to an instantly recognizable object. Matthew does some unique and interesting things in his process, such as spraying glaze through doilies his Grandmother crocheted, creating beautiful, intricate patterns. Prices will start at $30.00 making this a great opportunity to find the perfect funky gift for that hard to buy for person on your list. Please come out to the Fruita 4th Friday on November 22nd at the Rye Gallery at 201 E. Aspen Street for our opening celebration.
