What up Wednesdays!?
I hope all is well! Coach Carl tapping in on this gloomy Wednesday Morning and would like to talk share about a topic that all too often gets OVERLOOKED by Athletes and Families

Embracing The Pace of Your Journey

Do you sometimes feel behind or not enough..
or moving too slow?

A constant reminder I've received from someone I worked with is..

TO PUMP THE BRAKES & SLOW DOWN

There’s no deadline in when you're supposed to be the greatest

Coach John Wooden said..."Be quick, but don't Hurry"

Embrace your journey, the failures and successes because what matters most is YOUR growth.

Instead of comparing yourself to everyone else, spend that energy and time embracing you.

Who you are and how you show up for your team

Be the teammate that you want to be.

What are you doing to make others around you better?

There's enough room on the track for all of us.

Who else needs this reminder today??

Share your thoughts below if you've experienced something like this before. Coaches, Players, Families are all welcome!

My 13 National team experienced some humbling and character building moments. We came home placing 3rd 🥉 overall in the tournament, with many lessons to be acquire.
I can’t say we played optimally as we did 2 weeks ago after coming off the MLK Bid tournament where we finished 2nd place and competed against very challenging and competitive teams to earn our 2nd place finish in the tourney.
As a coach I failed them, I felt more frustrated simply because we were being challenged in a different way, and I clearly expected to see a different outcome. Therefore, my head wasn’t in the right place, and I can’t say my coaching was optimal as well to lead. Because I failed, we failed, we learned, and we’ve agreed to recognize our faults, small successes to come back ready to train.
Proud to say we came home with some hardware as it was well earned, and proud to admit my moments of failing. Without it we can’t learn and grow. Cheers to learning and getting punched in the face! Back to work squad
