You may have noticed that it's been pretty quiet around here the last few weeks, and that is because we have a fun little surprise on the way!

It was a beautiful Tuesday. I was 9 and had no idea what was going on.

I turned on the radio to listen to my favorite program and found out that it was canceled. The broadcasters were doing a day of prayer. I assumed it was the normal yearly fundraising they always did and turned it off disappointed. Little did I know that America had just been attacked by al-Qaeda.

That night, my parents brought me up to speed and explained many things my young mind had never really paid attention to. To terrorists, to war, to the Middle East and Islam. It would change the course of American history going forward.

Two of my brothers are EMS, one is pursuing being a firefighter. My husband is active duty Army. On a day like that, both of my brothers would probably be going to help, and my husband would be on standby for potential deployment. May we never forget the firefighters, police officers, military, and others who flooded into New York to find survivors. And may we never forget the families whom those who died left behind. May we pray for and support them today.
