ADVICE TO OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING:
If there’s something that’s a deal breaker when you are looking for a vendor, bring it up immediately when talking to them. Every venue we looked at, I started the conversation ‘do you allow dogs in your venue?’ because it was non-negotiable for us.

Get inspired this holiday season with Amy & Daniel's August wedding at The Crossvines.
One hundred and three guests, along with a eight-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their August wedding. They had their first look and ceremony at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Ijamsville and their reception at The Crossvines in Poolesville. “We chose The Crossvines because it allowed us to celebrate with our extended family of all ages. The fact that The Crossvines is a research vineyard reminded us of one of our early dates visiting a vineyard near Amy’s vet school.”
Amy as a veterinarian and Dan as a pharmacist have a shared love of science. They incorporated science elements into their wedding decor including their famous scientist table numbers, 3 foot tall graduated cylinder centerpieces, prescription for a happy marriage guest book, and the subtle serotonin molecules on the cake. As a nod to Amy’s Chinese culture, they matched their linens to the blue and white color scheme of the traditional Chinese vases at the sweetheart table and had Chinese wedding candy boxes as favors for their guests.“We loved that our wedding was the perfect amalgamation of our interests.”

Get inspired by Nicole and Kevin's wedding at Antrim 1844 Hotel.
Nicole and Kevin met in 2018, like all millennial couples, on Hinge. Two kids from Maryland drawn together by a Ravens sweater and their love for Old Bay. “We had a whirlwind first date exploring D.C., consisting of a horse themed bar, roof top mini-golf, and plenty of dancing. After that, we both knew it was something special.” In September 2023, Kevin returned to school in the fall, so they had to celebrate his birthday a little late. They went out for what Nicole thought was a birthday dinner for Kevin at one of the hottest reservations in D.C., Maydan. Despite being stuffed full of exotic dips and spreads, Kevin suggested drinks at The Gibson, a back alley speakeasy around thecorner. Little did Nicole know, Kevin would be asking her to marry him with all of our closest friends around. It was a surprise engagement and party and it fit us perfectly.
One hundred thirty-five guests, along with a 18-person bridal party, helped the couple celebrate their April wedding. “We chose Antrim 1844 because of the gorgeous gardens, ability to have the majority of guests stay on site, and because the venue is all-inclusive. We also wanted to get married in Maryland to celebrate where we both grew up.” Nicole grew up in Mount Airy, so Antrim was fairly close to home as well.“We wanted to get married in the Spring, as it's a season of rebirth and beginnings. We chose lavender, gold, and white as our wedding colors to give a pop of color and to go along with the spring vibe (also we both love the Ravens and Nicole's favorite color is purple). We had a black-tie optionaldress code, which paired with the venue, making the whole evening feel timeless.” The couple’s first dance was definitely a highlight of the evening. They danced to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra and self-choreographed a fun and romantic dance, with a big surprise lift at the end. “Our ex*****on wasn't flawless, but it was fun!” Kevin's family is from Pittsburgh, so they also had a cookie table with endless amounts of homemade and store bought treats. Guests had take home bags as well, which was a big hit.
ADVICE TO OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING:
“We used a lot of the preferred vendors and it made the night so much easier! Most of them were local and had been to the venue multiple times, so they worked like a well oiled machine. We also had a coordinator through Antrim who was amazing and helpedmake the day run super smoothly."
