At Platoon 22 our mission is to end veteran su***de through the successful reintegration of service members and their families by assembling critical resources, providing peer support, and developing transitional programs. The boots in the Platoon 22 memorial symbolize the 22 lives lost per day, 682 lives lost per month, and over 8,000 veteran lives lost each year to su***de attributed to PTS. Pla

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Boots, Blackjack & BBQ! From our sponsors and donors to our volunteers, staff, and every guest who came out to support the mission, we are incredibly grateful.

Because of your support, Platoon 22 can continue providing critical services, resources, and hope to veterans and their families throughout our community. Every ticket purchased, raffle entered, and sponsorship secured helps us ensure that no veteran has to face life's challenges alone.

To our volunteers and team members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes - thank you for making the event such a success. And to our veterans, thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving those who served.

We are humbled by this community and the unwavering support you continue to show Platoon 22.

Before the excitement of tomorrow’s big event, we’re spending today doing what Platoon 22 is all about -serving veterans and their families.

Our Equine Connections class is more than just time with horses. It’s an opportunity for veterans to build trust, reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and connect with others who understand their journey. The bond between horse and human has a unique way of breaking down barriers, creating space for healing, growth, and hope.

It was a busy and impactful day for Platoon 22!

Today, we had the opportunity to participate in a Health & Wellness Fair with the incredible team at Sierra Nevada Corporation in Hagerstown. With more than 30% of their workforce made up of veterans, it was a great chance to connect with those who have served, share resources, and continue building relationships with a company that understands the value veterans bring to the workforce.

At the same time, we’re proud to celebrate our Board Vice President, Scott McCaskill, who served as a panelist at the Nonprofit Summit. Scott shared his insight, leadership, and passion for strengthening nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.

We could use a few extra volunteers for tomorrow’s sold-out Frederick Keys game!

The gates open at 5:00 PM, and first pitch is at 6:00 PM, but we’ll need volunteers to arrive early for setup and prep. If you’re able to help, please plan to arrive between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

We’ll be working the concession stand, and most volunteers will be finished around the 7th inning.

This is a great opportunity to support Platoon 22 while helping us raise funds to continue serving veterans in our community.

If you’re available, please let us know as soon as possible. [email protected]
