Change Healthcare is STILL DOWN. As stated the other day in multiple posts, other clearinghouses and individual payers have turned off their connections to Change Healthcare for their own protection. I don't think the media understands how big of an issue this is to the healthcare industry. Change Healthcare is not just a clearinghouse. Over the years they have taken on more than just conveyance of claims. They are a pivot point for many payers' claims processing as well as distribution of ERAs. Also, not only do they have PHI for patients, think HIPAA, they have bank account information for just about every healthcare entity in the country. I hope all of those ERA-EFT forms with bank account and routing numbers, that were sent by email or fax, are all encrypted!!!!!
