I know what is an ahead of me and I know what I have to do. I do not have time for fear, I only need to lean into my faith and that gives me the courage to face anything.

Each day it gets a little easier and the belief in my resilience gets stronger. It is a new day and I am faithful, grateful, and peaceful!

This Mother’s Day marks a special moment in my life, and this year unlike any other. It will be the “last time” for a number of things in my life. For one, this is my last year as a doctoral student. Yesterday was the last class for spring semester. I will have many more “lasts” that will come soon. I will be forever changed as a woman and as their mother, but I thank God what they are to me and my life each and every day. They are my motivation and I will keep pushing to show them what it looks like to fight when you have to! This year, this Mother’s Day I am holding them closer. Motherhood has been a blessing and a beautiful journey for me. It is tough and dynamic but to see these boys grow into who they are becoming has been my proudest and greatest achievement as their mother! Every day they give me “Hell” in the funniest, happiest, and sweetest ways! They are outspoken, creative, intelligent, happy, leaders, funny, independent people! Sometimes the advancement of their thoughts and questions challenge me, but I know one day they will be thoughtful leaders because of it! I am not the perfect mother, but I have done the best I could with what I have. Thank goodness for my husband and their Dad! He is our protector and anchor. He holds us down. Thank goodness for our family and friends for keeping us lifted in prayer and support. I thank God for giving me the strength to get up every day, and for blessing me twice in my lifetime on 9/21/2013 and 12/21/2021 to the mother of two fantastic little boys! Forever my babies! Proud boy Mom!

I just realized that I have gotten away from my daily post of positivity. Every day I post “M.A.I.” . Well, today’s quote really hit home for me this morning. Nothing will bring you to the quick realization of how fragile we are as humans more than when you have to be brave, and you have to muster that bravery to face a fight only you can fight alone. Thank you, God for another day! Thank you for my family and friends. I am not alone. I am never alone. I am brave and this too shall pass.
