…and needed to overhaul your process to finish on time?

Oil painting takes time. I decided to add “Foresight” here to my show…less than a week before hanging the artwork! I knew it wasn’t enough time to finish the piece the way I typically paint. But by using thick applications of Galkyd medium with minimal pigment, I knew I could get the semi-gloss appearance of a finished oil painting for a fraction of the drying time.

The bonus was that this process unlocked a NEW way of painting for me. There’s no rule book saying you need to stick with your methods, so, go experiment! Wear your pants backwards for a day. Self-imposed limitations can be transformative.
