This is where Reverse Engineering techniques come into play. I can create a CAD Model of your part. Have you approached a machine shop and they asked for a CAD model, but all you have is the part in-hand? Reverse Engineering techniques range from measuring the part via calipers and modeling it, or scanning with a 3D scanner and developing a CAD model from the scan data. Often a combination of the
two is used to ensure the most accurate CAD model is created. Whether your end gaol is to 3D print it, cast it, or have it machined from steel, I can take your part and reverse engineer it into a CAD model. Once you have that the sky is the limit. My services consist of:
- 3D scanning if required
- Reverse engineer your part to a CAD model
- Comparative Analysis of your CAD model to the scan data to ensure your part is accurate
- 3D Printing - I offer 3D printed parts as either a final product, or as a prototype for fit checks prior to committing to production.
- For 3D printed parts I offer a range of materials from standard PLA to more advanced engineering plastics
- Drafting services for most components if a detailed print is desired, complete with applied GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1992
If this is the position you find yourself in contact me asap, and let's get to work. About me: I hold BS degree from Purdue University. I have over 35 years experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 patents.
