Direct Conveyors
Operators on this automotive line never carry a pallet back to the staging area.
In this video, we walk through a custom lineshaft roller conveyor loop built for buffering automotive parts on pallets. A few key design moves keep the line moving and the operator out of the way:
• A stop holds pallets in place so they accumulate before moving to assembly — no manual queuing required
• One side rail uses a custom low-friction surface, so wires and hoses hanging off the part can slide along with the pallet instead of snagging
• At each end, a ball transfer table lets the operator shift a loaded or empty pallet sideways onto the return path without lifting it
The result is a closed loop: pallets move themselves, and the operator's hands stay free for the actual work.
This system was custom-built through our partnership with Rolmaster.
If pallet returns are eating up time on your line, let's talk about what a loop like this could look like for your floor: https://www.directconveyors.com
