We are excited to share that Future Forward Education & Career Center and William Cofield High School principal Adam Nance has been named the 2026 Russell W. Behanan Outstanding School Administrator of the Year by the Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children (KECSAC). The honor is part of the annual State Agency Children School Administrators Association (SACSAA) Awards. Mr. Nance is one of two winners statewide to receive the award.

KECSAC is a statewide collaborative dedicated to ensuring that all children in the state receive a quality education. “State Agency Children” (SAC) are children in the custody or supervision of the Commonwealth and are being served in programs funded and operated by the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department for Community Based Services, or the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities in Kentucky.

"Mr. Nance exemplifies the compassion, dedication, and commitment to student success that define outstanding educational leadership. He has dedicated himself to creating a supportive environment where students feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed despite the challenges they may face,” said Sherri Clusky, KECSAC Associate Director. “We are honored to recognize Mr. Nance with the Russell W. Behanan Outstanding KECSAC Administrator Award for his unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of state agency children and helping them build brighter futures.”

Mr. Nance has been an educator for 21 years, all with Franklin County Schools, and has served as principal at Future Forward and William Cofield High School for the last six years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Georgetown College, his Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from the University of Louisville, and his Education Specialist, Supervisor of Instruction degree from the University of the Cumberlands.

“This recognition is not a reflection of one individual, but of the incredible students, educators, and staff I have the privilege of serving each day,” said Adam Nance, Future Forward and William Cofield High School Principal. “Over the years, I've had some wonderful leaders I've been able to work with who have led by example. Education is a team effort. I am fortunate to work alongside a dedicated group of individuals who consistently put students first and help all our students to ! I share this honor with my colleagues, mentors, and family, whose encouragement and support made this journey possible.”
