🌡️ A heat wave is headed our way this week, and we want to make sure our clients, caregivers, and community stay safe.
Adults 65+ are at higher risk during extreme heat events - and as home caregivers, we're paying extra attention.
Here are some important reminders:
🔹 Know the signs. Heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke can come on quickly. Symptoms to watch for include muscle pain, swelling in the legs or feet, dizziness, nausea, flushed skin, confusion, or loss of consciousness. Heat stroke is a medical emergency - call 9-1-1 immediately.
🔹 Stay cool. Turn on your AC, avoid using your oven or stove, take cool showers, and limit sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day. Don't rely on fans alone.
🔹 Check in on loved ones. The CDC recommends checking on older adults twice a day during extreme heat events. Make sure they have access to a cool space and are staying hydrated.
Stay cool, stay safe, and don't hesitate to reach out. 💙

Her heart extends beyond work too, managing the care of her own mother while excelling in her role shows her incredible strength and dedication.
Reliable, patient, and always willing to cover shifts for others, Jannette puts those in need first, every single day. Her team sees it, her clients feel it, and she absolutely deserves this recognition.
