In 2004 a group of car enthusiast gathered to organize and produce a quality car show in the Fountain Valley. In merely three weeks we went from initial meeting to the realization of the show, with silver key benefitting from the proceeds. That show took place at Metcalf Park, under the trees and gazebo and participants all received door prizes, great music and a whole lot of fun! Thunder in the v
alley continued each year thereafter growing in scope and compass! The Thunder Muffler Rap Contest has always been a mainstay along with the goal of every participant receiving at least one door prize and a great car show experience. The Tri-Lakes Cruisers, Lonely Knights Car Club and Colorado Springs Rod and Custom Club have offered us assistance throughout the years, contributing greatly to the show! Countless individuals, businesses and corporations from Fountain, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and beyond have supported this cause year in and year out! The show grew into a two day event by adding a “Show and Shine”, a Police and Fire escorted cruise and a legendary barbeque the evening before the show. The cruise and barbeque have been a rousing success, and we are still offering that for participants! Over the years, some of the volunteers have changed but the premise has stayed the same. Our premise: Producing a quality event for car enthusiasts with cars of every genre, thank you gifts(door prizes) for every participant, rocking music, great food, lots of fun, fellowship with friends and donating proceeds to a worthy cause. For many years Fountain Valley Scholars has been the cause we are working for. We believe in our children, they are our future of car collecting! Supporting kids seeking to develop their talents and skills for a better future is indeed a worthy cause. Since that first show under the trees, your generosity has helped us raise over $30,000! With your help, we will continue to help kids achieve their goals and provide you with an entertaining, fun and fulfilling weekend of cool cars, great music, delicious food and awesome friends.
