Her Words 🖤
I've been wanting to work with Amanda, Nice Life Photography, for years. After the past couple years being really hard for myself, and after a lot of healing, I finally wanted to treat myself with this photoshoot. I decided to be a part of the empowering 30 women over 30 because I felt my story fit into what Amanda was trying to showcase. I knew coming in, I wanted the photoshoot to focus on my physical strength but represent another side of myself that I've been learning to love, grace and vulnerability. I have always presented myself as a strong person that can handle everything, but I've learned that is not the case. And that is completely okay. That is what I've learned coming into my 30s, that you can make mistakes and be vulnerable and still be the same strong person you've always been. The shoot with Amanda helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin and accepting of how beautiful I can be on the inside and the outside. She helped show me what others could see that I could not always see for myself. At the reveal I was blown away from the photos on the wall. I at first could not believe I was even looking at myself, and then I was truly mesmerized with how gorgeous and mature I looked as well. The fancy, formal dresses and the poses Amanda guided me through perfectly captured what I was hoping to see, which was strength and vulnerability. Another added bonus was also seeing the scars on my body and the fact that they are not something to be ashamed of but celebrated as something I've survived and worked through. The whole experience with Amanda was comforting, exciting, beautiful, fun, and life changing. I'm so glad I was finally, after years of waiting, able to work with Amanda. It was the perfect time to do something for myself and Amanda made it all possible.
