LSN acts as resource to identify funding opportunities to support professional training and services. LSN provides liaison services to funders (public and private) and advocates for their support of local interpreting and translation services. Public education;

LSN coordinates services among a defined group of providers by acting as clearing house. LSN strives to create shared lists of interpreters qualified for distinct tasks. LSN coordination serves to alleviate the use of bilingual staff and avoid conflicts of interest and role confusion. LSN also researches local and national best practice models.
5. Information and reporting;
LSN compiles a map of services and consumer access points. LSN collects information on services available locally by tracking needs and collecting shared reports. LSN uses this information to provide referrals in person, online and over the phone.
6. Professional development;
LSN supports the training of interpreters and translators for distinct tasks. In order to do this, LSN establishes qualifications of interpreters and translators based on skillsets and distinct tasks.
