WILDERNESS SURVIVAL CLASS
Saturday, November 6th, 2021
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

In this day long class the student will get hands on experience, actually doing the work, building shelter, making fire, setting snares, treating an injured victim under austere conditions, working a signals plan, using navigational aids, survival tools, weapons, and gear. Areas that will be covered include:

-Survival Priorities
-Survival Planning
-Heat, Cold, Water injuries
-Wilderness 1st aid and trauma care
-Shelter
-Fire
-Food and water procurement
-Signals
-Land Navigation basics
-How Search and Rescue works
-Staying lost or Evasion and Escape
-Bug Out Bags, Gear discussion, equipment demo
-Q&A

Students are encouraged to bring a Bug Out Bag (BoB) if they have one. This will give them the opportunity to use their gear in the field under realistic conditions. This is not required. You can show up with nothing but the clothes on your back and you will leave with hard skills and a boatload of confidence.

Class size will be capped at 12 students and fills up fast.

First Wilderness Survival Class is on the schedule for 2021! Saturday, April 17th. This is a six hour class, spent in the woods, on the ground, with a LOT of hands on practice and skill building.

Fire
Food and water procurement
Signaling and getting found
Basic Land navigation

This is a drill I came up with recently to work on several moving parts and gunfighting tasks all rolled into one, 15 shot drill. It encompasses accuracy with primary pistol from 25 yards, shooting on the move, reloading, both support and strong hand shooting and back up deployment. I knock out 10-15 push ups to start. If you want to task load more, throw in a couple snap caps.
