Gorillabac, formally known as Lift Rite Log Company LLC, is a Family owned and operated business. It was established in 2012, here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The development of the company focused on improving firewood processes and safety.

The passion for the product is based upon a request from the CEO and Founder, Fred Kalakay's sister and father, who suffer from physical disability and weak with age.

While the family was splitting wood one fall day, Mr. Kalakay's sister was really struggling lifting the wood. She turned to Mr. Kalakay and asked "Can you come up with a device so I can get my wood up?"

That is where the idea for the product and the slogan "Get Your Wood Up" was coined and the quest began from there
