Two great projects in one house! In each case there were no before pictures. A blank wall was transformed into a 12’ wide by almost 11’ tall combination of four lockers, two pantries, two shoe drawers, six open storage cubbies, and it is all topped off by six more enclosed storage cabinets!

The goal of the island was to create an expansion of the existing kitchen. The family table was relocated in the home to allow 4’ of back to back base units to be set. The doors hide two full extension pull out shelves in each unit. From there a 6’ long frame was welded to span between the base cabinets and the island posts. The hidden treat is the built in wine fridge on the back side of the island. Cheers!

Sharing how an idea became a reality. The first picture contains a drawing I made based on the initial conversation with my client. She then made a storyboard to help dial things in. The results are found in the other picture. I’m always glad when the client is happy. They now have added storage needed right by the garage door to keep track of the little things needed to keep a busy family going.

Giving a shout out to Damon Larkey and Greg Goff for their wonderful tile work while I was on vacation. Clean up and grout to finish once the second bathroom floor is set, but nice to see everything coming together. There is a lot of satisfaction and pride knowing these guys are continually developing their skills. The future is bright!

This project reminds me that even when things do not appear possible, you should never underestimate a determined person. The homeowner had just bought her house and was looking for renovations. She wanted the kitchen area opened up to the main living space. The goal was to remove the isolation and be able to enjoy visits from her family/ grandchildren. When she told me of her timeline, I attempted to gently let her know that it was probably unrealistic. We certainly could squeeze in the kitchen renovation work and general upgrades, but her desire for custom cabinets built and installed within two months would be improbable. I’m the end I told her if she could find someone to take on the cabinet work I would fit her in. Well, she went out and collaborated with 2430Creations to get things rolling. So my plan for a leisurely December went out the window because we had to uphold our end of the bargain. Check out the photos and see what was accomplished in a short amount of time through collaboration and determination!
