Lafayette Place Addition

Playground construction is underway at Lafayette Place Park! New sidewalks were completed a few weeks ago and cross the park, connecting Glencoe Avenue and Sherwood Terrace, parallel to the basketball and tennis courts.

We’re very excited to announce that construction has begun on our new, updated Lafayette Park! 🛝🌳 The new, enlarged playground will be moved to an area adjacent to the pavilion, making it convenient for families to watch their kids play on the new equipment. The entire playground will be on an outdoor turf surface, an upgrade from the old mulch. There will be extended swings, and separate age-based equipment areas, including interactive equipment and a playhouse. A new “Communication Board” will assist kids and parents in navigating the area. Paved sidewalks will be incorporated for ease in walking, as well as strollers or wheelchair use.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by mid-June.

Check it out! The gazebo in the Esplanade has been re-born, thanks to Don Orban and Jeff Prentice. These two residents have painstakingly scraped, primed, and painted the entire gazebo, inside and outside, and it looks FANTASTIC! Thank you Don and Jeff!
