Our customers are absolutely the reason why I come to work everyday.

Last week I went out to the lobby to straighten up and saw a customer reading.

He had the coolest bookmark.

I asked him what he was reading. (I'm always looking for new books to read.)

We ended up talking about books, Fort Wayne, someone who turned out to be a mutual friend of ours, family, emotion and the uncertainty of tomorrow.

I left our conversation feeling better than when we began it. I left the conversation a slightly better person for it.

This morning, this familiar looking bookmark showed up on my desk. That kind man decided to give me his book mark. ❤️

We sometimes underestimate our impact on the world. But for me, that conversation and his small gift made my days immeasurably better.

It is a reminder of our conversation, a reminder to keep doing the small things the right way and with an open heart. Keep your eyes open to the beauty of the world around you, for there is much for which to be grateful.
