What have you done for me lately?
Have you ever noticed that the business world, whether it's corporate, government, or community-based, has the attitude of "what have you done for me lately" as Janet Jackson said it best?
Combating that attitude can be difficult especially when you don't have clear documentation to support the arguments you're trying to verbally make. Sometimes things just being written down give them a whole lot more weight than you delivering the same information out of your mouth.🤷🏾♀️

It's hard to do!
I've said it before, words matter, but the other thing that really matters is the tone that the words are delivered in. The reality, written words on a page do not have a tone.
What's actually happening is you are implying a tone based on what you know about the situation being written about and/or the person doing the writing. Putting your own tone on writing is detrimental.

It matters!!!
Have you ever been talking to a friend & you said something that literally made them tilt their head because they didn't understand what you were saying. You responded to their look by saying "...you know what I meant!" Yet they still looked at you in utter confusion.
The fact is, human beings are not mind readers! You have to use the proper for people to understand what you're trying to say. I get it, everybody's not a wordsmith, but work with someone who is so that your message can reach it's intended audience the right way.
