2025 is coming to a close. To say this year has been full ups and downs would be an understatement. While I can’t say everything, here’s a little wrap up.
I started the year with COVID. Then promptly sliced my face open falling on ice, resulting in 6 stitches and a concussion. It wasn’t a great start to the year, but we survived.
🪴Terra 🪴She finished her championship our first weekend out, with another two majors, going BOS over specials yet again. Since in January, she’s consistently been in the ribbons, finishing her grand in just a few weekends. She’s a little over halfway to her bronze. We didn’t show a ton, but she made each time count. While she’s taken a bit to mature, I’m really happy with my naughty dog and couldn’t have asked for more. When it comes to the field, she finished out her juvenile career placing in both runs back in April. While I don’t have any plans to run her in adult stakes right now, we’re still having fun out in the field.
🌿Basil🌿 His focus has been in the field, which is his true love. He ended his juvenile career with a bang, winning another massive derby stake. Then ran his first hour stake, the Victorie National Open Derby, placing 3rd! He finished up the spring season by winning the Central Futurity All Age stake. Thank you to Scott for everything you do with my boy, none of these would be possible without you. While he only showed a couple of weekends, he made them count. He earned an award of merit at the IBC specialty, fresh from the field after, winning the central futurity AA. He earned two majors towards his grand and placed in a few OH groups while he was at it. He finished the year strong at the National, not only winning his FT class, but earning an award of merit. I truly can’t wait to see what this dog does next as he surprises me each time.
Thank you to everyone who made this year possible. I am unbelievably thankful for each and every person. Happy new year!

Every year I go to the national, not for the ribbons, but for the community and to show off my dogs. This year was no different, except Basil decided to take it one step further. I’ve always admired the dogs and handlers who make it to the final cut. It has always been a dream and goal of mine to be there, I never imagined it would be with my first bred-by.
The dog who was never supposed to stay has continued to exceed all my expectations. From finishing his championship from the BBE class at the summer specialty, winning the central futurity AA stake, to now AOM at the national. He continues to prove that he was always meant to stay.
I originally didn’t plan on showing him at the national this year. He’s spent most of his time at Covey Find Kennel for training and trialing. He’d only been home for 3 weeks before we left for Arkansas. Thank you to Scott Johnson and Harlene Hoyt Johnson for taking such good care of my boy. I know he’s in the best hands and truly loves you both. I’m pretty sure he’s already counting down the days till he’s back in the field.
This little dream of mine wouldn’t have been possible without Julio Rodriguez letting me use T. Thank you for being such an amazing mentor throughout the time I’ve known you. I am beyond grateful for everything. I hope we’re making you (and Zoie) proud!
To my best boy, Basil. Thank you for doing anything and everything I ask. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face, even if you almost break my nose jumping. I cannot wait to see where the future takes you. The goal of dual champion doesn’t seem so lofty anymore.
Another massive thank you to Peter King (AUS) for awarding my boy and the kind words.
Lastly, thank you to Alyssa Janiszak photography & design for the amazing photos. I always have such a hard time deciding and this time was no different.
