In the past week, the Office of the Attorney General has finalized a settlement in a major United States Supreme Court case, overseen the ex*****on of a man who killed a correctional officer while serving a life sentence for attempted murder and kidnapping, and prosecuted another for the beating and strangulation death of a woman with seven young children. These are the issues handled by the Attorney General. This is why experience matters.

Don’t be distracted by my opponent’s rhetoric. My opponent is a volunteer deputy state’s attorney who has never prosecuted a case before a jury. He has refused to specify his courtroom experience so that voters can assess his qualifications. He will tell you how many miles he has driven on the campaign trail but won’t say how many cases he has tried before a jury. Our next Attorney General must have the experience to get the job done. Do you want a real prosecutor or an aspiring politician?

We have learned through tragedy that public corruption can have devastating consequences. Failure to perform the duties of public office responsibly and ethically erodes trust in our government. As Attorney General, I will hold all public officials accountable and will follow the law wherever it leads.
