Are you sewing along to make your own Quilted Farm Girl Quilt? I have finished April’s Flower and Leaf blocks using Lori Holt’s Farmers Daughter fabric, designed by Lori Holt. These quilt blocks are easy to make following well-written and easy-to-follow pattern directions by It’s Sew Emma from the Fat Quarter Shop.

I used the Squared-Squared trim ruler by Studio 180 Designs. The ruler method lets you make the blocks larger and trim them to size for perfect quilt blocks every time. To make the leaves, I decided to strip-piece the 3-section leaf, trim to size, then snowball the corners, which helps me keep straight lines and achieve accurate seam placements.

Learn how to level up machine applique.

I am using the Bernina B770 QE Tula Pink machine.

I am currently preferring machine applique for its speed and how it looks. I use the 10C pressure foot with the no. 63 specialty stitch, setting the length to 6 and the width to 4.3.

Save for future reference and share with someone who would be interested in this method.
