15 years experience teaching Middle School (6th - 8th Grade) ELA/Reading.
15+ years experience working in the field of education. GT Certified to teach Gifted and Talented Students. I hold a Master’s Degree in Reading Education. I hold an Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education. Taught Remedial Reading for several years. Participated in Literacy Coach Training Courses. Wrote and received many grants to better the Reading Program where I teach. Resume’ Upon Request. THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
I specialize in motivating struggling young readers. I also specialize in increasing reading levels of students, so that they can become successful in all areas of study. I’ve been teaching in the same school district for 12 years. I have a very strong work ethic. I will test your child to indicate the reading level at which they are reading. From there I will begin building their confidence as a reader, improving their reading skills, and ultimately, getting them to their grade-appropriate reading level/above. INTENT:
I am a 6th Grade ELA/Reading teacher who is offering my services to help struggling young readers to become confident life-long readers, to develop a love for reading, and to improve on skills that may be hindering their success as a proficient reader. I will come to you, or you can come to me - whatever is most convenient. Fair prices/per hour
