During the May 2026 Ebola outbreak in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo, MedSend-supported surgeon Dr. Jacques Ebhele continues serving patients in the middle of crisis.

“This is my country, my town, and my people catching the disease and dying including nurses and doctors.”

Jacques is part of MedSend’s Launch Project, which supports national physicians stepping into long-term missionary service in difficult regions across Africa and Asia.

After years of surgical leadership across Africa, Jacques returned home to the DRC to found Christian Surgical Network and build Mercy Surgical Polyclinic in Bunia.

Even during the outbreak, he remains committed to compassionate care and Gospel witness:

“We will work diligently, making sure that we represent the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the forgotten.”

Please join us in fervently praying for protection, wisdom, and a medical breakthrough in the ongoing emergency Ebola response in the DRC, Uganda, South Sudan and throughout the surrounding regions.

We have been deeply encouraged by all that God has done this year through healthcare missions around the world, and are grateful for the many lives touched through this ministry.

None of this would be possible without the faithful support of our donors and the dedication of those called to serve.

As we near the end of the fiscal year, we still need to raise $500,000 to finish strong. It is essential to our ability to mobilize quickly and continue caring for those God is calling us to serve.

We hope you will prayerfully consider joining us with a fiscal-year-end gift. Together, we can continue bringing the hope of Christ through healthcare missions.

“To have the support of MedSend… was one of the expressions of the fatherhood of God.”

That’s how Dr. Belyse Arakaza describes the support that made her medical training possible.

Dr. Belyse Arakaza lost both of her parents as a child. Today, she’s a doctor serving others.

“I am serving God today… because you gave.”

Your generosity makes stories like hers possible.

Longevity on the mission field doesn’t happen by accident. It takes support, community, and space to process the realities of care. The Longevity Project exists to help healthcare professionals serve well and serve longer.
