PSA for dog parents: Baby bunny season is here! 🐰

Wild rabbits often nest in shallow spots in the grass, where babies are hidden under fur and dried grass. Dogs usually smell them before we see them. If your dog is suddenly fixated on a patch of lawn, check for a nest!

Help protect babies during their short 3-4 week nesting period:
👉️ Leash & scout: Do a quick yard check or leash your dog for the first outing of the day.

👉️ Block the spot: If you find a nest, place an upside-down laundry basket with an opening cut for mom. Add a weight so it can’t be moved.

👉️ Mark it: Use a cone, chair, or stake so everyone avoids the area.

Thanks for helping keep our wildlife safe during this short nesting period!
