Love and healing to everyone in the Krushendo family, I hope Karlyle is throwing a dance party in the skies with his mom at his side. He was a good dude and a passionate grinder in the industry carving out his path. A doer’s mentality and someone who was manifesting their dreams and situation through hard work and teamwork. He will be missed by many and clearly made an impact in other’s lives and left his mark in numerous ways. Thankful to have known and worked with him over the years! Thanks for headlining some of the benefit shows back in the early days!! Rest easy and keep the head bang strong. 🙏🎶

HIP HOP ON THE HILLSIDE - MISHAWAKA AMPHITHEATRE

The annual Hip Hop On The Hillside is a gathering of family, friends and fans. The show is organized by local hip hop artists Kind Dub along with the Mishawka and this was their fourth year. The show highlights local hip hop artists from Colorado as well as national touring acts. The headliners this year were Evidence and Sa-Roc, with local artists Kind Dub, Thin Air Crew, Rolos Rios, and DJ Dominic Deadbeat and many special guests. Rolos Rios started the show with his poetic enlightenment and truthful honest hip hop style. He set the vibe with his stylistic approach to his craft that conveys happiness and peace through his music.

Thin Air Crew brings the party everywhere they play. DMFC, A. WILL and Dominic Deadbeat brought the heat to chilly wet night in the Poudre Canyon. These boys are all about bringing their lifestyles out through their music. They sing about love, joy, w**d, s*x, cars and everything else that they see in life that moves and inspires them to write it down. Thin Air Crew loves to have fun and if you are around them the infectious energy just rubs all over you. They played a high energy set of their music and then joined Kind Dub and other guests during their set a bit later on.

Kind Dub was next on stage and they debuted several new songs with many special guests. Kind Dub combines guitar, keyboards, vocals and pre-recorded music, this set up gives you a live band experience with all kinds of exciting artistic twists and turns. Hip hop meets stylistic grooves, searing and razor sharp guitar licks and powerful vocal delivery is what you get. Kind Dub is Cody Marsden and Cory Clarke, they were joined by the powerful Alex Knox on keyboards, DJ and vocals. Jason Bommarito (J.Bomb) brought his stylistic vocals to the party along with Rolos Rios, Thin Air Crew, Deadbeat, and Sarah Joelle and Sarah Slaton. The set weaved in and out of traditional hip hop style, funky grooves, heavy guitar driven arrangements and angelic melodies, all provided by the talented voices on the stage. Sarah Joelle’s voice is like something landed on your shoulder from the heavens above as she displays amazing control and remarkable tone in her emotional and vivid vocals. Sarah Slaton has power in her voice that just floors you with depth and emotion, she has a stage presence that locks you in and you cant take your eyes off of her. The stage was a rotation of talent with never ending good vibes and grooves.

Sa-Roc hit the stage next and she wasted no time delivering her inspirationally moving and conscious message through music. She speaks life's truth with powerful conviction and pay-attention presence. Her delivery is powerful, peaceful, mind opening and moves your spirit and body to a place where they become one. Her self expression genre is highly danceable with cool and funky grooves, divine lyrical expression and a very cool vibe. She had a wonderful presence and the crowd was digging it and giving back great energy. What treat to have her on the hill.

Evidence closed out Hip Hop On The Hillside and he did it in fine artistic fashion. The consummate artist - from graffiti art to rapper, to producer and all around entertainer - Evidence is living life full of expression and honesty with himself and his audience. You could see and feel his passion last night as he is an emotional ambitious writer and he definitely carves out his own path to sharing his music exactly the way he wants. His voice was sharp and precise, his lyrics were sentimental and honest, and his stage presence was quite impressive. The set was a true hip hop cultural experience with great delivery and a fun attitude for all in attendance.
