Mudding a proud edge So a while back I ripped out a rotten shower tile wall, and replaced it with a shower surround. But the flanges where the surround mounts to the studs are annoyingly thick and sit ~1/4 proud of the drywall surface. I thought about trying to cover it with trim, but couldn’t find anything with a recess or anything on the back, so it would sit weird. So now thinking I should just tape and mud the flanges, and feather them into the wall as best I can. We’re using sand textured paint so it’ll hide a bit of the f$ckery, but any thoughts on how to get a decent result?

Door trellis This trellis adds so much to the generic lookingg big wall of vinyl siding, also proud I made it in just two days! Most of the jointery in my shop connected with 1" oak pegs. Will stain the pressure treated lumber a dark color soon.

Not talking smack about anyone’s work Hi there. I just want to say that I’m not personally a fan of the new vertical tile look or of the non staggered joints that people seem to love these days. It’s just not for me. Am I the only one? Again, I’m not taking s**t about installers or anyone’s work. This is just an image I pulled from Google. What do you guys think?

What is this? Can I remove it? The post goes into the ground. It's to the right of an old gas fireplace, but I'm sure it's not that. I'm confused about the metal wire connecting to a post, makes it seem electrical. On the other side of the wall there is nothing I could think of that it would be/go to. Maybe old tv?

Had fun with these two installs, I need to go back and take better pictures since the drywall/painters have finished up but whatcha think?
